DEEPER!
I envisaged this film as the ideological continuation of my 2012 film Short Stories. It was 2018, a lot had changed in Russia and I wanted to make a new, satirical statement.
It’s actually quite incredible that this film -
which compares the atmosphere at the time and the state machine with the porn industry - managed to get a big screen release in Russia.

Fired from his job in the theatre and barely able to make ends meet, an intellectually minded director starts to make porn videos to earn his daily bread. His intellectual approach and meticulousness, which were unappreciated at his former workplace, turn out to be just the thing for the porn industry. The whole world acknowledges that porn has never been so deep.

During the finale we hear "The Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum, arranged by Nikolai Inshakov in symphonic form. The producer and sound designer of the whole film score is Sergei Bolshakov of Fly Sound Studios.
